VALID SMPC FOR OBTAINING THE TRADEMARK

Since the last update (July 2021) the RCP (Product Category Rules) for 8 specific product categories have been valid. RCP (Regole di categoria di prodotto) per 8 categorie merceologiche specifiche.

These RCP have been developed as part of the"Made Green in Italy"initiative, supported by the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of Land and Sea (MATTM), with reference to the Product Environmental Footprint initiative promoted by the European Commission.

The Made Green in Italy program aims to strengthen the image, recall and communicative impact of "Made in Italy"products, inorder to support their competitiveness on national and international markets. In particular, the project aims to define the most effective ways to evaluate and communicate the environmental footprint of the products of the Italian production system, through the adoption of the PEF methodProduct Environmental Footprintas defined in recommendation 2013/179 / CE and s.m.i, and associating aspects of traceability, environmental quality, landscape quality and social sustainability.

The Product Category Rules (SMPC) provide the requirements and guidelines necessary for conducting a product Environmental Footprint study study functional to obtaining the Made Green in Italy Mark, which takes into account the analysis of the most relevant phases of the product life cycle (raw materials, production processes, packaging, distribution and end of life).

WHAT ARE THE PRODUCTS FOR WHICH RCP HAVE BEEN PROPOSED?

  • • Carded wool fabrics or carded fine hair (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 for carded wool fabrics and fine hair – NACE Code 13.20.12.30); RCP valid until 07/07/2025.
  • • Wooden packaging (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 for wooden packaging – NACE Code 16.24); RCP valid until 07/07/2025.
  • • Provolone Valpadana PDO cheese (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 – NACE Code 10.51.40); RCP valid until 30/06/2025.
  • • Grana Padano PDO cheese (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 – NACE Code 10.51.40); RCP valid until 24/06/2025.
  • • Services of industrial laundry activities (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 – NACE Code 96.01.10); RCP valid until 18/06/2025.
  • • Aceto (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 – NACE/CPA Code C10.84.); RCP valid until 15/06/2025.
  • • Dry pasta (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 – NACE/CPA Code 10.73.); RCP valid until 08/06/2025.
  • • Pe Multipurpose Bags (Law no. 221 of 28 December 2015 – NACE Code 22.29.29); RCP valid until 11/02/2024.

HOW CAN YOU ASSESS THE LIFE CYCLE OF A PRODUCT?

The assessment of the life cycle of a product takes place through an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) analysis LCA which results in a Product Environmental Footprint Statement, which is essential for obtaining the prestigious Made Green in Italy environmental label required by law.
