CONTRIBUTIONS TO ENTERPRISES IN THE TEXTILE, FASHION AND ACCESSORIES INDUSTRY

With the Ministry of Economic Development Ministerial Decree of 18/12/2020 (published in the Official Gazette no. 32 08/02/2021) the procedures for implementing the support measure for small businesses operating in thetextile, fashion and accessories industry have been established.

The action aims to support the textile, fashion and accessories industry, with particular regard to start-ups that invest in design and creation, as well as in order to promote young talents in the textile, fashion and accessories sector that enhance made in Italy products of high artistic and creative content, from the recycling of used materials or the use of fabrics derived from renewable sources.

The Decree in summary identifies:

Beneficiaries such as small, unlisted enterprises that have not taken over the business of another enterprise and have not been incorporated as a result of a merger, which on the date of submission of the application must:

  • be registered and active in the Register of Companies of the Territorially Competent Chamber of Commerce for no more than five years;
  • carry out in Italy one or more of the facilitated economic activities;
  • be in the full and free exercise of their rights, not be in voluntary liquidation and not be subject to insolvency proceedings for liquidation purposes; in addition, as of 31 December 2019, companies should not have been in a difficult situation;
  • be in compliance with the provisions in force on contribution obligations;
  • have not yet distributed profits.

To benefit from the facilitation, moreover, the aforementioned companies must carry out at least one of the activities, which results from the "prevailing" code of activity communicated to the Register of Companies and specified in the decree.

The type of projects that can obtain the benefits:

  • realization of new design elements;
  • introduction of production process innovations in the enterprise;
  • creation and use of innovative fabrics;
  • inspired by the principles of the circular economy aimed at recycling used materials or the use of fabrics derived from renewable sources;i;
