National energy and climate plan

The 2030 Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan was definitively published after it passed the SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) screening provided for in Article 13 of DLgs 152/06 in mid-May. The Plan contains measures for achieving the European targets with a time horizon of 2030, in the areas of decarbonisation, efficiency, energy security, research and competitiveness.

With regard to greenhouse emissions (the national Carbon Footprint to be understood) our country has provided for a reduction in GHG emissions of 43% (reference year 2005) for the "mandatory" sectors (ETS Directive) and 30% for the "voluntary" sectors (non-ETS industry, transport, tertiary, primary and waste management).

Note how a timely application of rules such as UNI EN ISO 14064:2019 (Greenhouse Gases – Part 1: Specifications and Guidance, at the level of the organization, for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and their removal; Greenhouse gases – Part 2: Specifications and guidance, at project level, for the quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions or the increase in their removal) can guarantee concrete evidence of improved performance on GHG emissions carried out at the organization or individual project level (e.g. installation of renewable energy plants to replace energy consumption from fossil fuels).
